   The son of a Giantess who resided near Mount Leinster was imprisoned in a strong dun or forth near the present town of Carlow probabally Dinn Rí. To batter down the forth the woman went up the mountain and having selected a large boulder to cast at the 20 mile distance firt. She raised it up an in attempting to through it she slipped and fell and tumbled down the mountain side leaving the gorge called the Old Woman's Slidder. She threw the stone as
