- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)225away after giving up hopes a man standing in the graveyard saw the grass in one place getting greener than the rest and the water came to the top of the ground and he and another man started digging and the water kept going down till it reached the level of the Well. The old well was in the shape of a D cut in the soft rock. When the well was opened Mr Patrick O'Leary then living in Ballinaslaney got the well built and a wash house erected for anyone with sores to bathe in. He also erected the statue of St David at the well and a window in the Church of Oylegate. Since the well opened last there have been numerous cures. Eye sight has been restored and those that were on crutches walked.
The water's healing powers could not be surpassed in the world. St David was a Welsh man. They wear the leek in honour of him in Wales on the first of March. It is also the Patron day in Ballinaslaney.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
