    Hidden Treasures
    When the Danes were in this country it was reported at the time that they hid a treasure in a moate in Mr Whitty land in Pouldarrig which is in the Parish of Oylegate. About seventy years ago local people were discussing the subject, and one family decided on digging for the hidden treasures and it was reported they got money buried in the moate and they prospered well on it. It is also reported that the Danes buried money on the hills of Castle Sow and about eighty years ago when a man was living in one of the houses he found a good deal of money.
