  1. About fifty years ago a man named Peter Murphy of Legga walked to Dublin in the harvest for the cutting of the oats. He left home at two o'clock in the morning and reached Edgeworthstown at about half past four. He then continued and reached Mullingar and did not rest until he reached the place where he was going to work. He had to start work the next morning.
