  1. The people around my house believe that when you see a dog eating grass it is a sign of rain.
When the soot begins to fall down the chimney in big rolls you can hear the old people saying that it is going to rain the next day. When you see a rim all around the moon in the night, it is also another sign of rain.
When the walls begin to get damp, and the ditches smell it is also a sign of bad weather.
If a mist goes up into the sky it is a sign of bad weather, but if it falls out of the trees down on the ground, it is a sign of good weather.
I heard this from my mother, whose name is Mrs Donlon, Meelkenagh, Moydow, Co Longford.
