- The most harmful weeds growing on our farm at home are crowfoot, chicken-weed, lamb's-quarter, thistle, prasha, dock, groundsel, foxtail and couch grass. They are harmful because they spread rapidly and they make the land poor. Prasha grows mostly in poor ground as do foxtail and couch grass. Crowfoot, chickenweed, lamb's-quarter, dock, and groundsel grow in good land. Dock, thistle and nettle are used for feeding pigs and fowl. The nettles are cut, then are put into a pot. When they are boiled they are taken up and chopped and mixed with other food.
