- St. Bridget was a maid in a house named Fitzgeralds Carton Maynooth. They were relations of the present Duke of Leinster. They were protestants and were very hard to the priests. One member of the family called the priest an ass. Some years after there was a son born and he had asses ears. St. Bridget was still a maid there and she was very kind to the poor. She used to bring them out food in her apron. This day the old man watched her, and asked her what she was doing. She said she was only throwing out flowers.He looked into her apron and saw there were flowers in it. He told his family about the miracle.
