Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)doned about three hundred years ago, when Cromwell's soldiers plundered it in 1649. There are a few inscribed stones near it.
Rathmore Castle was attacked in Cromwell's time by the soldiers until it finally surrendered. It had a dungeon where people were sometimes put to death. Priests were hidden in it during the penal days.
There is an old tower down at the back of Main Street. It was built about three hundred years ago by monks and is now used as a Protestant church.
It is said that once there were Protestants in this town who were very bitter against the Catholics. A Protestant man died, and they buried him in Catholic graveyard to see what(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
