- Wedding Customs
When a couple are getting married they go to confession before hand. The day before the wedding is a very busy day in the brides home in preparation for the great feast.
Many friends send presents to the bride and bridegroom. On the wedding morning a car goes to the house for the bride. Old people say it brings luck to bride to be in the church that morning.
When the ceremony is over both go into the vestry to be registered. After this they come down the centre aisle and confetti is shaken on newly married pair but in olden days it was rice.
The wedding breakfast is taken in the brides house and she herself cuts the cake. If they do not go on a long honeymoon they go for a long drive around the country.
