  1. There are many field's and lanes in the district which still have their Irish names and their meanings.
    A hill situated near Kilsaran is called an Croc Holm and in English it is called the "Graw's" In olden times many huts were built on this hill, hence the name Cró which means hut.
    There is a road leading from Castlebellingham to the sea which is called Bóthar na gCrann. In English this means
