  1. There is a number of fairy forts in this district. There are two in a field owned by Mr. McGuire of Kilsaran. One day when he was fencing gaps he cut down the briars to fence them. Shortly after he and his brother were driving a cow down to a different field when a lorry came and knocked it down and broke her leg. There is also a fairy fort on a hill-field behind our school and if anyone fell into it they would never be seen again. One time a horse fell into it and it was never seen again.
