There is a ryhme about the bride and what she is to wear :- Something old and something new, something borrowed and something blue. Another custom is that the groom is to be in the chapel first. After the couple are married the people who are in the chapel throw rice or confetti on them.
Men called "Straw Boys" used to goround and demand drink and money at the wedding feasts and if they did not get it they would wreck house. These "Straw Boys" got their name from the fact that they wore straw around their knees.- Bailitheoir
