  1. The cures for a a toothache long ago was to put a frog into ones mouth and let the frog in your mouth until it would screech.
    They way they used to cure boils was to put sugar and soap on to a cloth and put it on to the boil until it would get cured.
    The cure for ringworm was parafin oil and washing soda and rub it on to the wound then it would heal up.
    The cure for corns was torpeen which grows on thatch they used to boil it in new milk and then rub it to the corns.
    In those times there were no doctors and nurses to be found. That was the reason they used have all these cures.
    The juice of elderberries simmered and thickened with sugar if taken hot at bedtime cures a cold or a sore throat.
    Parsley tea is very good for a cold in the kidneys.
    Peppermint water is good for colic in the bowels or pain in the stomach.
    Watercress also is very good for the stomach and also arrests consumption of the lung scurvy.
    Horehound and chysook may be gathered in some gardens and dried tea from them cures a cough.
    Maindenhair from fern tea cures influenza.
    Perfume may be made form dried petals domask noses thyme lavender. If put into water for the toilet they have a healing effect on irritated skins.
    These herbs are also very good for the complexion.
