- It is said that some years ago a miser lived in the townsland of Farranrory. He had a lot of gold and he was very much afraid it would be taken from him. One day he went to the wood and hid it deep under the earth. A robber seeing him hide it, dug it up and hid it between the townsland of Farranrory and Jessfield.
After it had been hidden there, light were seen several times at midnight.
A strange man passing by this place, seeing the light, watched the spot over which it was shining.
One day he came and unearthed it and took it to a fort and hid it and set a fairy to mind it.
It is said by some people that animals can see where this great wealth is hidden.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
