    There are several fairy forts in the school district namely - Rathnaleen, Sheane, Moanfin, Lisboney, Rathmartin and Ringrove.

    often walked and played in some of them.
    There are several grassy mounds in some of them.
    It is said that you should not interfere with them. The belief is that they were built by " the Good People" as hiding places during the troubled times.
    Sometimes stories are told of dogs of unusual size who frequent the forts at night. The story is told of a farmer who cut bushes in a fort near here, and one of the bushes struck him in the eye and he lost the sight of it completely.
    I do not know of any sound such a churning being heard there but lights are supposed to be seen there.
