  1. Local Herbs (ar lean)

Around this district there are usually some herbs to be found namely - the thistle, the dandelion, the dog-leaf and the groundsel.

    (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)
from any insect it can be cured by dandelion. Dog Leaf would cure the sting of a nettle. Farmers believe that is "priseac" grows in the corn it is a sign that their corn will never grow. Also if nettles grow on their farm it is supposed to be good land.
It is said that groundsel is able to cure asthma, and some other disease. There is also a cure for warts from thistles.
many of these herbs are useful because in olden times people used to gather herbs and store them up and whenever anybody got sick in the house they used them.
