    of Docks will remain on the plant going through a threshing mill and will stay in the straw and go out in the farmyard manure and every one of them will grow.
    The seeds of the thistle are very light and when ripe the least breeze of wind will blow them all over the field and probably to the next field. If thistles are not cut before blossoming they will fill the field in a very short time.
    The principal weeds on poor soil are spunk and tansey and these are very hard to banish. Both have very long roots and when ploughing or harrowing you break off small pieces of roots and each of these will grow. Nettles on land is a sign of good land.
