  1. (continued from previous page)
    I
Even as I laid it on I said I shall be near
While she leans on me this burden shall be mine not hers.
Do not fear to impose on a shoulder
Which uphold a government of worlds
Yet closer come thou art not near enough
I would embrace thy care so that i might
find my child reposing my heart
Thou lovest me I know it doubt not then
    But loving me lean hard.
    II
Mary of graces and mother of God
May I tread in the path where the righteous had have trod
Mayest thou save me from evil control
Mayest thou save me in body and soul
May the guard of the angels above me abide
God be before me and God at my side
It is said going on a journey
    III
The next is said going to bed.
Mother of Jesus look on us and help us
Watch over us and protect us
Bring us over the harms of the night
as you did over the day.
