    About six months ago a sailor was drowned in Foynes. The night was dark and some people say he was drunk and as the tide was in, he fell out of the boat and they could not get him until the tide went out.
    A couple of years ago a ship was lost in Tarbert and all the people in the ship lost their lives as they had no way to escape for those that went to save them did not succeed for they thought they were at different points.
