- About a mile from Mount Uniake are the ruins of an old fort. Many years ago fairs used to be held near this fort.
One evening a man and his son remained very late at the fair.
When they were coming, and were passing the fort a ball hopped out on the road.
The boy made an attempt to pick up the ball but his father would not let him. The ball hopped in of its own accord.
They heard the cheering inside the ditch, and the ball hopped out again. The boy tried again but in vain.
Again they heard the cheering, and again the ball hopped out again. The boy picked it up and threw it in. He went home, and after three days he died.- Bailitheoir
