- About a mile from where I live is a townland called Corbally. The road to the village of Mt. Uniacke goes through this townland, and there is a certain part where people are afraid to travel by night. Personally I never saw anyhing unusual, but a huge dog is supposed to be seen there, and strange voices are said to be heard from a quarry nearby.One night about two years ago, a man was coming home from the village and his road led him by that same, much dreaded, quarry.A steep hill has to be climbed to reach the spot and as he began his upward journey he heard the barks of, as he thought, many dogs, from the adjoining field. A neighbouring farmer had sheep in the adjacent field and the man naturally thought that some dogs were chasing the sheep, as some dogs are prone to doHe came on as quickly as possible, with the intention of hunting the dogs, but, to his surprise he saw that there was only one, huge, black, dog, on the road.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
