  1. On St Patrick's night about 50 years ago, there were four fishermen from Rathcoursey out salmon fishing and during the night they saw a grey horse pass them by on the water. A man was on his backcrossing from French's bay to White gate with a whip in his hand. They pulled in the net with two fish in it supposed to be salmon, but they were disfigured. The men could not say what they were, one fish had no eyes and the other fish had only one eye so they got frightened and came home and went to bed frightened.
