- The name of my home district is Ballynoe, in the parish of Kildorrery in the barony of Condons and Clongibbons. There are only eight families and roughly about thirty eight people living in it.
There is no family name commoner than another in the area. Most houses are slated only one is thatched. That is a farmer's house. There are only four farmers residing in the townland.
There are no old people living in Ballynoe, these having died in recent years. About eight houses are to be seen and one ruin which is in the last stage of disappearance. A great number of people emigrated to America and other countries also in years gone by.
As the townland is small there is no bog or river or stream or lake or wood in the district. The soil is good. It is not mentioned in song or story and is, I think, of no importance.- Bailitheoir
