Ar an leathanach seo

  1. In the latter end of the last century there was a famous football club in the parish of Dromtarriffe. At that time Father Brown was a curate in the parish and he took great interest in the football club. The team won victory after victory until they were in for the All Ireland final against Wexford in 1893. Father Brown went to Croke Park with his team. At half time he asked the team to leave the field as a protest against the treatment they were getting from the other team and referee. The team did not leave the field with the result that the priest fell out with the boys and left the field himself. The game was never finished. It ended in tumult and fighting. The Dromtarriffe team began to fall away from that out.
