  1. One morning, Fr. Ned Mulcahy, parish priest of Timoleague, was going north to Clogagh, the northern part of this parish, to say Mass. He passed a man on the road, "Tá tú ag treabhadh romhat, said Fr. Ned. "Táim, arsa an fear, "agus bí-sé ag fuirseadh im dhiaidh".
    Father John Mulcahy was Fr. Ned's nephew, and he was pastor of Timoleague for 33 years.
    Fr. Ned had stations in Abbeymahon. One member of his flock, Liam Céitínnigh, had left for England that same morning. When Fr. Ned was calling out the names of the householders after Mass, he asked,
    "Bhfuil Liam Céitinn annso indiu?
    "Beidh sé id theannta amáireach, a Athair," arsa Máire, bean Liam,
    "Ó mhuise" arsa Fr. Ned, "go séidfidh gaoth éigin
