  1. In my townland long ago there stood an old house which is now knocked down. This house was supposed to be haunted by ghosts. One night a couple of neighbours went in and passing by a mirror they looked into it and saw a man putting on his collar and tie.
    One day the old man who lived in this house fell ill. Two swans flew over the house and this was a sign that the man would die. That night the man died and a wake was held. About four o'clock all the people were gone except a few. Those were sitting by the fire when they heard a great wailing and crying at the door. They thought it was a neighbours dog that was crying for the old man, but on looking out
