  1. Stirabout cake was boiled in a pot. After it was boiled it left cooling for fifteen minutes. When cold it was mixed with flour and milk. Lastly it was kneaded and baked in a bastible.
    Stampy cake was made from potatoes. The potatoes were softened and then they were roasted. Then they were fried in a pan.
    The flour from which the stirabout cake was made was made locally. It was made with grinding stones.
    Boxty cake was made from potatoes and oatmeal. The only ingredients used were, buttermilk, salt, and soda.
    Griddle bread was nicer than boxty. An iron plate was the griddle. The griddle was placed on a fire until it was hot. Then the bread was put on it.
