If he succeeded in putting the ball outside the "short line", if none of the others caught it before it touched the ground & if it fell inside the fences of the road he got another puck. If however, the ball was caught the player who caught it got the next puck & so on.
The player who got the most pucks in a specified length of time was the winner.
The hurley & ball were home-made & exactly like those in present-day use, tho'(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
