   There was a man one time who lived at Drum. He worked on the farm during the day and mended shoes at night.
   He fell sick and his wife sent for the doctor but he could do nothing for him.
   One day there was a knock on the front door and when the woman opened it there stood a wee woman who asked to be admitted to warm herself. "Certainly," said the woman of the house. "I never refused anyone a heat at my fire." So the wee woman came in and the woman gave her a bowl of soup. While the wee woman was drinking the soup she said to the woman of the house, "Where is your good man to-day?"
   "He is sick in bed and there is no hope of him getting better," said the woman of the house. "Now when I leave you go up to the room and take a corker pin, which is stuck in his hinch out, and he will get better, and tell him never to stay up late at night again, as he is on the fairy pad."
   When the wee woman left, the woman went up to her husband and when she looked in his hinch she found the
