  1. About two miles from the parish of Clogh a holy well is situated. It is called Kilgorey and got it's name from Fr. Gorey who was killed there.
Every year in the month of May numbers of pilgrims visit this spot and drink the water and wash themselves in it. An altar is erected near by and is decorated with flowers given generously by the people. Beads, holy pictures, statues, prayer-books, and candles are placed on this altar as tokens of gratitude on the pilgrims first visit, and the general rule is that they come twice after to fulfil the obligation.
This holy well is supposed to have sprung up in this way:- while Fr. Gorey was celebrating Mass he was beheaded and where his head lay water sprang up. It is believed that the chalice he used at Mass is buried underneath. Many miracles have been wrought from drinking the water of this holy well.
