- Lord Carrick lived in the townsland of Wollengrange. He had a splendid mansion there, but there is no trace of it there at present. Two huge piers mark the entrance to his mansion and two years ago May McCalmont offered £100 for them to Mr Timothy Kelly.
Lord Carrick had an English visitor and one day as they were walking in the locality they saw an old man driving along with a horse and common cart. Lord Carrick said to his friend "would he like to see what they did with an Irish Papist." He ordered the man to stop, and then Lord Carrick tied the reins round his neck and hanged him from the shafts of the car.It is said locally that several met a similar fate from the same Lord Carrick- Bailitheoir
