  1. Some time ago, there lived in this district a man named Freyne, he was a noted robber who lived in this Parish.
    He had a blind eye and a lame leg.
    In his early life he was a butler at Mount Juliet with the Earl of Carrick.
    One day a gentleman from Mount Loftus came to visit the Earl. As the night came very stormy and wet he was unable to go home. He was very troubled about Lady Loftus. While at supper Freyne over-heard the conversation about his riches and decided to rob the lady. He went out for his horse and turning the shoes
