  1. An Evil Spirit
    It is said about a hundred years ago there was an evil spirit seen in Danesfort,, four miles from Kilkenny. This spirit used appear at night time to any person who was passing in a horse and cart, and ask for a lift. If the person gave her a lift his horse would die. If the person refused to give her a lift he would die shortly after.
    This evil spirit's name was Kathleen Ní Ghorra. It is said that there is a green spot where she used to stand at night time. The place where she used be seen is still called "Lough Ní Ghorra."
    Now this spirit caused a lot of harm in the district. The parish priest in Danesfort whose name was Father Swift, banished
