    The "raggedy bush at Bamford"
    Eugene Curry in his letters of September 1839 relates another interesting legend concerning St Patrick.
    The story should be of great interest to St Patricks Parish.
    On the road from Kilkenny to Kells is a stone called "Glúin Pádraig." There are two holes in the top of this stone, six inches deep and six inches in diameter and six inces asunder. Here is Curry's version of the legend: Fionn McCumhail was at that time the leader of a company of brave men called the Fianna who gaurded the coast of Erin and whose camp was on the hill of Allen in
