    An orator and scholar.
As his holy life did tell,
    In Maynooth and Carlow colleges,
His name was known right well.

    Crown his soul with purity,
And place him in the choir to praise the holy Trinity.

To pray for his downtrodden isle the land he loved the best.
And with his loving parishioners he left his blessed remains.
May solace and joy surround him where the Queen of Glory reigns.
    VII

To him you know the wit of man can't give sufficent praise.
While standing here the falling tear I scarcely can control.
When your going away I hope you'll pray.
