Ar an leathanach seo

  1. In years gone by my grand father had a farm at the back of the one we now occupy. It is now owned by P. Barden. My grand father was very fond of playing cards and used to go to Condonstown every night for the game.
    One night he was coming home and coming down the field at the back of the house he heard a terrible noise. He took it to be barrle of chains tearing along and just hitting him in the heels. It happened on different occasions he was never frightened the old people were very courageous.
    The spring afterwareds he went and ploughed up that field and what do you think he got but a crock. When he examined it there it was filled with small things like oats but the colour of clay. Of course he was surprised and he put in his hand and took it out and examined it and he set no value on it only scattered it around. He took home a few bits to show what was in the crock to my grand-mother.
    He threw it on the dresser. So the news went around
