- There was once a man living in Lavallyroe and he caught a horse in Lavallyroe lake. He had the horse seven years and she used to have foals for him.
He used to plough with her and do other work. One day he let herself and the foal out. When he took the bridle of the horse he struck her with it and off she ran into the lake and was never seen again.
He caught an old woman in it also. One day her hid her bonnet behind the rafters. He had the woman a long time. Every time she used to get the man gone she used to go searching for the bonnet.
One day she got the man gone and she went searching for it and she got it. She then disappeared into the lake. When the man came home he found the woman gone and he never saw her again.
