Hidden Treasure
I have collected two stories on hidden treasure and I am now going to give an account of them.
Many years ago there lived an old man named Miley Daly in the downland of Lislea in my district. He dreamt three nights in succession of a pot of gold which was hidden in the lands owned by Mr O'Sullivan. After the third night he set out in search of the treasure but being afraid he brought with him an neighbouring man by the name of Bernard Mc Manus to help him in the search for the gold.
In the dream he was warned not to speak until the gold was found. But Alas! after they were some time digging they came upon the flag which covered the golden Bernard McManus shouted in excitement O! we have it. But when they lifted the flag they found to their great misfortune an empty pot. On their return home they gave the pot to an woman called Mrs Earley and it was in her possession for many years.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
