    My townsland got its name from Hazelnut trees growing in that area.
    There are three people over seventy living in my townland. There names are Edward Byrne, Richard Ward, Mrs. Costello, all of Hazelhatch, County Dublin. None of these can speak Irish but they can tell storeis.
    There were more houses in Hazelhatch in olden times than at present because the land was tilled and a great number of people were employed cultivating it.
