  1. Fairy Forts
    There are many fairy forts in my district. They are called raths, rings and mounds. E. G. Griffinrath, The Ring and The Mound.
    There is a rath called Griffinrath, in the townland of the same name. There is also a larger rath in the same townland called "The Ring". There is another rath in the townland of "The Commons" calld "The Rath". In Killadoon there is a rath called "The Mound". In the townland of Barberstown there is also a rath known as "The Rath". There is another rath called "The Ring" in Ballscott. These raths are nearly all circular in shape.
    Some of them are fenced with barbed wire
