  1. Long ago my grandfather Patrick O Connor from Droum and other people were going to Tralee with carrageen moss. They had horses and cars. It was about two o'clock in the night as they were going over to Carragh bridge.
    They met a priest with a "cypross" on him coming along the road. Above them on the mountain road they saw a lot of horses and cars and a lot of people. Although they could see the people they could hear no noise.
    The priest did not return their salute and although they crowd had the appearance of a funeral there was no coffin to be seen. My grandfather and the others with him thought it was strange to see a funeral at that hour of the night. They were a bit frightened too and did not go out late at night for a long
