    and was used only as a fence. The men parted in very bad terms.
    Some few days afterwards Larkin served the inspector with an attorney's letter threatening law proceedings for the price of his trough. In order to avoid the law the inspector wrote to Michael Heffernan, N.T. Ballinilane N.S. and asked him to get his father, who was a carpenter, to make a trough for Larkin. In this way Larkin got a trough worth about thirty shillings for which Mr. MacNamara had to pay.
