    About 60 years ago there was a hedge school in the townland of Bragan.

    every scholar would take a bundle of straw and some scollops and some man would be appointed to thatch it.
    There was no desks, but instead big stones on which the scholars would sit or maybe write.
    The Hedge schools are done away with now and the masters have houses of their own.
