After waiting and watching for an opportunity to fulfil her vow,the opportunity came at last.She found the eleven splitting a tree in a wood.She came up to them and said she would show them Goban's secret in splitting a tree.She took the axe and inserted a wedge,which opened a split in the tree about an inch wide,and told them to range themselves on each side of the tree and start and pull the split open.As soon as they inserted their fingers in the split she lowered out the wedge.They were firmly held by the closing split and could not move.She took up the axe and battered the brains out of the eleven men.
