    Mountain sage will cure the cold. The sage is boiled and the juice is sweetened and kept tightly corked and used as required.

    To hold paraffin oil in the mouth is a cure for toothache. Epsom salts would do either.
    The juice extracted from tobacco is also believed to cure toothache.
