- On St. Stephen's day, boys go around here with a wren. Some of the boys get a dead wren, and some get a live one. They go around from house to house with the wren begging for money singing:-
"The wren the wren the king of all birds,
St. Stephen's day was caught in the furze,
Up with the kettle down with the pan,
Give them a penny for the will of God".
When they get enough money they divide it between themselves.
