  1. Long ago two old men lived together. Every night a woman and her child came in to see them. This night when they were thinking of going home the child asked a drink. Having got it she said "Thanks" and they set off for home. After a while they heard people talking and laughing. The little girl stood up to hear them. The fairies came, took the woman and girl and brought them away. The fairies gave them a horse and told them not to speak. The little girl did as she was told but the mother didn't. The little girl was let home but her mother was never seen again because she had disobeyed fairies orders.
