  1. Once upon a time there lived two very rich men. They both lived happily together for some time. One of them died and the neighbours told the other that it was the custom of the country to put twenty pounds of money into the grave, and that the dead man would return again if that was not done. The man did not want to put all that money in the grave so he only put two five pound notes in it. The dead man was buried and the other man came home from the funeral. That night some of the neighbours went to where the man had been buried. They opened the grave and took the ten pounds out of it. They also took up the body of the dead man and placed him outside the other man's door. When the man rose in the morning and opened the door the dead man fell into the kitchen. He jumped with fear and said "What shall I do" in a loud voice. He ran as fast as he could to the neighbours house and told them that the man he had buried yesterday had come back. When he came into the house he was very wild and frightened looking. They asked him did he put in the twenty pounds and he said he only
