- A cold or sore throat is often cured by hot buttermilk and sugar. The people in former times used to get for a stone bruise sugar and soap and mix it up and warm it and then put it on the stone-bruise that is the way they used to cure anyone that would have a stone-bruise.
- If you had the rose you would have to go to the person who had the cure and they would give you a bit of butter to rub to it and it would get better.
