    If there was a ring in the side of your cup, tis a sign you'ld be going to a wedding, but if twas in the bottom of the cup, you'ld be going to a wedding, but it wouldn't take place.
    If there were squares inside in your cup, you'ld have awful bad friends.
    If there was a bit of bread in the bottom of your cup you'ld be eating strange bread. (e. g. in another house).
    If there was an anchor in your cup, you'ld be going on a long journey.
    If there was a mass of tea-leaves in the bottom of your cup, you'ld be crying over some awful loss.
    If you saw a shamrock in the bottom of your cup, you'ld have good faith.
